About the event
Now in its seventh year, the Victory International Film Festival brings independent film to downtown Evansville, Indiana, with $2,500 in cash prizes and a growing reputation as an Oscar-qualifying launchpad (its 2025 selection "The Singers" went on to win the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short). Listen screened as part of the festival's Documentary Block 1 in the Starlight Room at the historic Victory Theatre, a National Register of Historic Places venue built in 1921.
The film won for best documentary. The message from the film festival Director, "The crowd cheered for your win at our awards ceremony! It was very well received during our Best of Shorts opening night celebration on Thursday and the Short Documentary block on Saturday.."
