The Changing World of Moroccan Hammams wins a Gold Dolphin and a Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards
The Changing World of Moroccan Hammams, directed by Petri Luukkainen, has been honored with two Dolphin Trophies at the 2026 Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards: a Gold Dolphin in Investigative Documentaries and Reports, and a Silver Dolphin in Lifestyle, Food and Living.
Professor Magda Sibley, who appears in the film, accepted the awards on behalf of the team at the ceremony in Cannes on September 24.
Our award-winning documentary follows Professor Sibley and architect Rachid Haloui as they return to Fez to revisit the 20 traditional hammams she first documented in 1999, exploring how age-old traditions endure or disappear in a rapidly changing world.
The film's festival journey continues this fall. It screens in the International Competition at FINIFA (Festival Issni N'Ourgh International du Film Amazigh) in Agadir, Morocco, on October 4, and as an Official Selection in competition at the Festival International du Film PanAfricain de Cannes on October 21. Full details are on the film's page: The Changing World of Moroccan Hammams
Congratulations to director Petri Luukkainen, producer Samuel Aarnio, executive producer Greg M. Moga III, cinematographer Otso Reunanen, editor Altti Sjögren, and everyone who brought this film to life.
